On 26th February, we held our fifth session under the Third Pole Series titled "Sensitizing the Nepalese private sector on NDC 3.0" at CNI.

The expert presentation was given by Mr. Rajan Thapa, National Project Manager of Capacity-building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and executed by the Ministry of Forests and Environment (MoFE) at WWF Nepal. He has over 15 years of experience in climate action at various capacities like climate advocacy, climate adaptation and mitigation, and program design.

His presentation reflected the importance of climate commitments like the Paris Agreement and the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and Nepal's status regarding greenhouse emissions and climate achievements. As Mr. Thapa supported the government in drafting NDC 3.0, he shared his insights as to how the private sector can utilize the momentum to engage in net-zero projects and contribute to the national commitments.
