On 19th December, we organized the third edition of the Third Pole Series titled “Building Climate-Resilient Health Systems and Communities: Innovations, Partnerships, and Pathways Forward”. Mr. Nirvana Chaudhary, Chairperson of Chaudhary Foundation, opened the session by highlighting the mission and vision of Third Pole Initiative.
For this special edition, we had Mr. Chris Elias, President of Global Development of Gates Foundation, Madam Hanaa Singer-Hamdy, UN Resident Coordinator of Nepal and Dr. Maheshwar Dhakal, Joint Secretary and Chief, Climate Change and Management Division, Ministry of Forest and Environment as panelists for the session, which was moderated by Ms. Merina Ranjit, COO of Chaudhary Foundation.
The panelists shared their opinions and experiences on matters related to resilient health systems like blended financing, use of technology advancement and partnerships for better public health facilities. The session saw over 40 participants from various backgrounds and organization, who enriched the session with their valuable insights and feedbacks. The session concluded with the message that resilient health systems need to on focus while working on climate resiliency and for it, there needs to be a effective public-private partnership.
